Due to the recent and ongoing turmoil that has affected many lives during the COVID 19 pandemic; Buckingham Athletic FC have taken the difficult decision, to not enter a team in this seasons u18 floodlight league. Rather than view this as a setback, we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we have everything in place to prepare the club for next season.

As part of our plan to reimplement an U18’s team for next season, we are pleased to announce that we would like to hear from any u15, u16 or u17’s who would like to consider making a step up to the U18’s floodlit league as of the 2021/22 season next year. This also offers the opportunity for each player to partake in the renowned FA Youth Cup and County Cups.

Buckingham Athletic currently have 2 senior teams the first team currently play in the Spartan South Midland League and our Under 25 Development side play in the UHLSport Hellenic League. Our main aim as an established club, is the development of young players. We have 4 UEFA B license coaches at the club, ready to work with young aspiring footballers, who want to develop themselves on and off the pitch.

If interested please contact us and over the next 7 months, we plan to attend matches around Buckinghamshire to watch you play with your local team (with your managers permission).

We will then be holding a number of training sessions with prospective players in order to give you an insight on not only what it is like to play for our club but the opportunities of moving from youth to senior football.

We anticipate holding some football matches at the club, under the lights, to give each prospective player a feel for what it will be like to play for the club in a competitive capacity. These games will take place against lucrative opposition such as: some potential professional teams, using our extensive network to make sure you get the best experience possible whilst with us.

We also take parental guidance very seriously; so to follow on from this is we will hold a Q&A session with parents or guardians of all prospective players who wish to know more about what we have to offer you!

To reiterate our main aim is the development of young players. Obviously we are looking for all of our players to make the next step in football and therefore, anyone who joins we will be encouraging to keep pushing to play senior football in our 1st and Development sides.

However, the end goal is to develop so you can play at the highest level possible. We believe we have had great success in providing the best environment for nurturing young talent over the years and regularly invite previous U18’s back to tell their stories, on how coming through our set up has helped them shape their careers, as they have moved on to semi-pro/professional teams.

We look forward to hearing from anybody who is looking to continue on your football journey.
